I’m Mary Kewney, or “Lexify” and I’m a specialist teacher in dyslexia-related skills.
I have a wealth of teaching experience and have been a dyslexia specialist teacher since 1996. I worked for many years at the Dyslexia Institute (now Dyslexia Action) London Centre, becoming the senior teacher there before I left in 2006. Since then I have worked on the Dyslexia and Employment project, run at South Bank University and have set up an adult dyslexia programme for Islington Adult and Community Learning. I also run a busy private practice, providing tuition for dyslexic people of all ages.
I have provided dyslexia awareness programmes for schools, universities, local authorities and for staff at the British Library. I am happy to support dyslexic people in their place of work and will provide an individual support package when needed.
I carry out specialist teacher assessments and can arrange for assessments to be carried out by an educational psychologist if required.
I am dyslexic myself, so have a practical as well as theoretical knowledge of the difficulties and strengths of dyslexic people.
